○ A large-scale concrete grain silo located at Pier 7 of Incheon inner port is transformed into a gigantic book .

○ Incheon metropolitan city and Incheon Port Authority are implementing a super-graphic design project for a grain silo of Korea TBT Co. Ltd. located at Pier 7 of Incheon inner port.

○ "Silo super-graphic design project" is a project where concrete silo and public design are converged for transformation into a tourism resource, construction of which has been undertaken in January this year and completed at the end of July with joint investment by Incheon city and Incheon Port Authority.

○ This project involves a ultralarge-scale grain silo of 180m in length, 32m in width, and 48m in height requiring an operation of painting construction on 4 faces by incorporation of  the best mural artists domestically (6 people including Jongcheol Shin).

○ The silo located in the neighborhood of port redevelopment area of piers  1·8 of Incheon inner port is positioned on a street corner between China town and Wolmi Island, causing many passersby to wonder.

○ An interesting story is hidden in the design to be unfolded as super-graphic. It has a theme of “Gigantic book and growth” and a design where the concept was taken from use of a silo storing grains and the shape of books shelved in a bookshelf to express 'A person growing through books'. To the book cover  design, four seasons symbolizing the flow of time was applied, and phrases meaning growth process were designed as titles for 16 books. It is developed as a story where a boy enters in the book providing foods for mind and grows up as an adult together with wheat symbolizing the grain silo while going through spring, summer, fall, and winter.

○ Pre-open zone of Pier 8 of the inner port and Wolmi Island observatory may be considered good places to view the silo, and it can be seen readily from anywhere at the access road to Wolmi Island.

○ Within this year, it plans to challenge GWR (Guinness World Records) under the title of 'World's largest book sculpture.

○ After listing the super-graphic in 'GWR, Incheon city and Incheon Port Authority are planning to attract domestic and overseas tourists by making it to be the attraction  not only as a priming project that can tow successful redevelopment of Incheon inner port but also as a global tourist destination .
