With the establishment of a new sea route to Haiphong, Vietnam, Incheon Port now provides 48 regular container sea route services, the highest in history.

On the 27th, Incheon Port Authority (www.icpa.or.kr, CEO B. H. Nam) revealed that Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) HP3 (Haiphong Express 3) service connecting Incheon Port and Haiphong, Vietnam has newly been established.

Container vessel for HP3 service, Kalliroe (1,700TEU) will enter Incheon Container Terminal (ICT) at South Port, Incheon in the evening of 28th. Kalliroe is the first vessel out of two 1,700TEU vessels to use the HP3 service.

According to Incheon Port Authority (IPA), HP3 Service is a rapid service that would enable freight to be delivered in 2 days from Incheon Port to Shanghai, China and in 6 days to Haiphong, Vietnam. The route covers Incheon-Shanghai-Haiphong-Yantian-Hong Kong-Busan-Incheon and will be serviced once a week.

With HP3 and the new establishment of TIS (Taicang Incheon Service) which is expected to begin service on 4th July, Incheon Port now provides 48 regular container sea route services, the highest in history.

In addition, with the change of Hyundai Merchant Marine CTX (China Thailand Express) that was previously provided in Incheon New Port to KVX (Korea Vietnam Express) service, the transportation time to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and Laem Chabang, Thailand will significantly be shortened while the rotation rate of the route will increase.

※ CTX : Incheon-Xingang-Busan (New Port)-Ulsan-Busan-Gwangyang-Shanghai-Ho Chi Minh-Laem Chabang-Sihanoukville-Manila-Busan-Busan (New Port)-Incheon

※ KVX : Incheon-Busan (New Port)-Busan-Ho Chi Minh-Laem Chabang-Ho Chi Minh-Busan (New Port)-Qingdao-Xingang-Incheon

KVX service will facilitate three fleets of 2,200 TEU vessels in rotation with the start of 2,200 TEU, HYUNDAI FUTURE that will touch at Incheon New Port’s Sun Kwang New Port Container Terminal (SNCT) on 28th.

IPA explained that through this change in service, transportation time will be reduced from the previous 12 days to 9 days for Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and from the previous 17 days to 12 days for Laem Chabang, Thailand.

Kim Young Guk, the Team manager of Global Marketing at IPA stated that “Active promotion will be conducted on import and export shippers and forwards in metropolitan regions to ensure that the new service would operate stably within the quickest time while proactive support will be provided to enhance the service quality.”
