Ocean Network Express opens its first service at
Incheon Port in the New Year

A ONE vessel enters Incheon Port on January 1 for the first time through
the slot exchange with HMM
ONE opens its container vessel service connecting Incheon Port and
Vietnam

○ Incheon Port Authority (www.icpa.or.kr, Acting President
Hong Kyung-sun) announced that Ocean Network Express
(ONE) opened its first service departing from Incheon Port
and successfully called at the Incheon Container Terminal of
Incheon South Port on January 1, 2020.

○ The service was launched through the slot exchange with
HMM, and it calls at Incheon, Busan, Hong Kong, Hai Phong,
Shekou, and Incheon. It takes seven days from Incheon to Hai
Phong and another seven days to return.

○ ONE announced that the two parties established the
partnership before HMM joined THE Alliance (consisting of
ONE, Hapag Lloyd, and Yang Ming Line in addition to
HMM) as of April 2020 and prepared the foundation for
closer exchanges among THE Alliance members throughout
the future.

○ The new shipping company calling at Incheon Port has
expanded the spectrum of services offered by the port,
especially as ONE is reviewing the possibility of launching
additional services with Incheon Port.

○ IPA Vice President for Operations Lee Jeong-haeng said,
“The increasing number of vessels of global shipping companies
calling at Incheon Port testifies to the port’s competitiveness.
We will not remain idle with the status quo and work harder
to attract more global shipping companies and launch more
services to build a port sought after by all.”

○ ONE is a Japanese shipping company headquartered in
Tokyo. According to Alphaliner, it ranked 6th among global
container shipping companies in 2019 in terms of slots.
